RE Gilbert's posting on this issue. In the USA my primary care Physician and my Dentist are both of Indian origin. Why ? Besides the Desi connection, I find them to have more empathy, and they take the time to explain what the problem may be. Unfortunately with non-Indian origin Pysicians, I felt that I was being treated like someone on a conveyor belt. A quick look, barely any questions asked and out of the door. A nurse later comes with a prescription and a bill. I am sure that there are exceptions to the rule. But this has been my experience of several decades of interaction with health care professionals in the USA.
