Rosario’s Birth Anniversary Observed
Tiatr Academy of Goa celebrated the birth anniversary of late Rosario
Rodrigues, the most popular Khell-tiatrist of his time, with a special
programme on 24th October 2010 at the JAF Memorial Auditorium, Ravindra
Bhavan, Margao.

The Chief Guest for the function, Shri. Patrick Dourado, a well known
personality from the field of Khell-tiatr highlighted the achievements
of late Rosario Rodrigues in bringing various modifications to the
traditional khell-tiatr of Goa. He appreciated Tiatr Academy of Goa for
organizing such a function to remember a stalwart of Goa’s traditional
khell-tiatr.
Shri. Tomazinho Cardozo, President of TAG in his welcome address
described late Rosario Rodrigues as a sincere and dedicated artiste who
went all out for making khell-tiatr a popular form of entertainment by
taking it to every nook and corner of Goa. He further stated that TAG
will celebrate the birth anniversary of another three great
personalities of tiatr stage namely Lucasinho Ribeiro the pioneer of
tiatr, Joao Agostinho Fernandes the father of tiatr and Regina Fernandes
the first woman artiste on the tiatr stage.
A photograph of late Rosario Rodrigues was presented to his family
members on the occasion.
Roseferns, the Vice-President of TAG proposed the vote of thanks and the
function was compared by Joy Fernandes, Programme Officer of TAG.
