SHANTARAM NAIK CONDOLES MATHANY's SHOCKING DEMISE
News of sudden demise of Tourism Minister of Goa Mr Mathany Saladnha due
to a massive heart attack, early morning on Wednesday is shocking and
unbelievable.
In a statement issued from New Delhi Shri Shantaram Naik M.P. and
Secretary, All India Congress Committee, has said that Mr Saldanha, was
more a social activist than a politician, and that, he agreed with me on
a number of issues I raised in Parliament.
In fact, once he took pains to send me certain documents relating to
Dabolim land occupied by Indian Navy. I also sent him a copy of
memorandum I sent to the Prime Minister on Special Provisions under
article 371 of the Constitution to protect Goa’s precious land, as, he
too shared my views.
Mr Naik has said that whole Goa is with late Mr Saldanha’s family, in
this hour of grief.
