UNBELIEVABLE HAPPENIGS!
It is reported that there were more than 10,000 applications for 80 posts of
accountant advertised in November 2017, 15,293 forms were sold, and the test
was conducted in January 2018. There were complaints from the candidates that
the written test paper had most questions out of the syllabus and others were
tough. All 8000 candidates failed! Further the results were not declared in the
last seven months as the CM was away in United States after falling ill! I fail
to see the connection as results are based on exams and what has the CM or any
politician to do with fairly conducted test results? Are they being manipulated
is a legitimate question? A Western Ghats Ecology Experts Panel (WGEEP) headed
by renowned ecologist Madhav Ghadgil set up by the government classified areas
of Ghats in Kerala as eclogically sensitive and recommended strict curbs on
mining, quarrying and use of land for non forest purposes in 2011. He also did
extensive studies in Goa's mining environment and noted that the mining
companies submitted false information in their EIA reports! The floods in Kerala
and climate change heavy rains are primarily due to shelving of the report and
ignoring warnings, as has been also done in Goa. Professor Dr Nandkumar Kamat
cautioning after the Canacona floods have also not been heeded, We must thank
the Supreme Court for halt in mining, thus stopping our suicidal path! Most of
our hills/forests are destroyed by mining which has proceeded in some areas
digging even below sea level! Kerala has shown how tourism based development
and human greed can wipe out all our lives suddenly. It is hoped the mining
dependents see the light, go back to agriculture and try to rejuvinate what
they have destroyed whilst our government publishes and follows the Gadgil
Report and wise councils of our caring learned NGOs! The illegal mining mafia
and those benefitted have to take responsibility for the mining dependents
which government has to ensure and not from the public exchequer !
