I believe FM Cariappa, Gen Thimmayya, Gen GG Bewoor, Gen Kandeth and many other defence personnel were Coorgis who are a martial race and very cultured and sophisticated. They own coffee plantations.The women drape their saris very differently from other Indian.Robin Uthappa who currently plays cricket for India too is a Coorgi as were several hockey players of yesteryears.I do not think Coorg has anything to do with Kerala.
