"TOSS" is the story of a group of supposedly Goan childhood friends Sami, Josh, Rayan, Shasha, Sherry. On their way back to Goa from a holiday, they find a bag full of money buried in a ditch along with a human corpse. Faced with a dilema, they decide to share the money and start dreaming of a happier life. Ramesh Khatkar's Toss may not have a star-studded cast to boast about but the film will be a visual treat for the audiences as centuries-old Portuguese houses of Goa (the shooting location for the film) have been put on display throughout the movie. An out-and-out thriller, Toss features Prashant Raj (Ram Gopal Varma's find for Aag, a remake of the cult classic Sholay, that bombed at box office), Ashmit Patel and Aarti Chhabria among others. "Shooting in those houses was so cool," Prashant says, adding: "For us it was like going back a couple of centuries and landing in Portugal. They houses will serve as great visuals for our film." But would you mind telling whether working with mentor Ram Gopal Varma was a boon or a bane? Not only did the film flop but it almost sank the career of the entire cast? "For me, it was a boon for sure," he says, "I was a newcomer and if you think it was a dream debut for me - big director, big star cast, lots of promotions and me playing the role Mr. Amitabh Bachchan played. I mean it was dream come true for me." He hastens to add, "The film had so many pluses that I did not for a second think that the film would flop. It was a remake of Sholay, we knew people would come to see the film for the sheer fact that it was a remake of the blockbuster. Till the day the film opened, I was very confident about a hit but after that what happened is history."And how did it feel when the film flopped? "It hurt, really I could not take it but you know sometimes in life things just click and sometimes it doesn't. But I was happy with the publicity I got," he said. Can you tell us something about your character in Toss? "I play this guy called Samay. He is into advertising; hard working and ambitious. I'm one of the six friends. And the story is about taking some bold decisions that change the lives of these friends forever." sources: http://www.dnaindia.com/report.asp?newsid=1161425 http://www.indiaglitz.com/channels/hindi/article/37136.html
