Rajan Obviously you were so mad that some unintended ideas slipped in about the Generalization of <<<The Third World>>> and you go on >>> Have Goans no sense of shame? Even a desperate, impoverished sub-Saharan African country would shrug this off as meh.
While I agree with you let me share another view point. Here in Tanzania we went to the same process.....the concretization of the whole country, flyover, some of the longest bridges, tallest buildings trying to reach the blue skies ...The Sixth President went on a spending spree..Fancy buying two BOEING DREAMLINERS with Cash ....I left Goa and caught an Air Tanzania Dreamliner and when we landed saw the other at the Airport in Dar es Salaam, collecting Dusty dream. While I had a mask and a shield ....Dar es Salaam was Maskless ....The bublic had been told that there was no Pandemic some bizarre tests were conducted on Goats, rabbits ..Corruption was so insidious, you almost thought that the country was clean like Iceland. Divine Intervention. May JPF like the CM of Goa Rest In Peace. Fortunately we now have a Lady President and things are returning to normal ...its not going to be easy but people are talking more freely whether its is about Pandemics, safety Measures and Jabs have been started with health personnel, the armed forces, priests and now the Johnson Vaccine .starting with old folks like me....will there be enough Jabs.....perhaps Sputnik will be rushed We simply cannot relax our Guard....even in the US there is a red alert......the excuse ...the summer heat, climate change .... Be safe...go to Iceland Adolfo PS I am consulting my Uncle on Mars about taking a trip there over just a kilometre’s span of water where just ONE would suffice Yet Goans preen as if it is a great engineering feat. If you truly want to see an impressive feat of engineering, you don’t have to go far. Just look down towards Ribandar and you will see PONTE DE LIÑHARES, built in the 17th C during the Portuguese era. THAT was a tour-de-force of engineering. Not this second-rate Third World turd touted by the Eye-Eye-Tee genius. Look closely at the construction and it screams Third World. Has the debris underneath the pillars been cleared? I doubt it. The hallmark of any Indian construction project is to leave behind unfinished business. There’ll be mounds of dirt and debris and garbage all around. This bridge ought not to be a source of pride. Instead it is a monument to corruption, to incompetence, to an utter lack of engineering standards. But standards and Indians don’t belong in the same sentence, and since Goa is now part of the Indian sewer… ------------------------------ - Previous message (by thread): [Goanet] Could this be considered a 'Goan' movie? <http://lists.goanet.org/pipermail/goanet-goanet.org/2019-January/182733.html> - Next message (by thread): [Goanet] No Standards, No Shame <http://lists.goanet.org/pipermail/goanet-goanet.org/2019-January/182735.html> - *Messages sorted by:* [ date ] <http://lists.goanet.org/pipermail/goanet-goanet.org/2019-January/date.html#182734> [ thread ] <http://lists.goanet.org/pipermail/goanet-goanet.org/2019-January/thread.html#182734> [ subject ] <http://lists.goanet.org/pipermail/goanet-goanet.org/2019-January/subject.html#182734> [ author ] <http://lists.goanet.org/pipermail/goanet-goanet.org/2019-January/author.html#182734> ------------------------------ More information about the Goanet mailing list <http://lists.goanet.org/listinfo.cgi/goanet-goanet.org> *Rajan Parrikar* parrikar at gmail.com <goanet%40lists.goanet.org?Subject=Re%3A%20%5BGoanet%5D%20No%20Standards%2C%20No%20Shame&In-Reply-To=%3CCAGNVRCtiepKeqjeetFyUBXu%3DWn6xE_1O2H9OutRza4tiV1FyRg%40mail.gmail.com%3E> *Sat Jan 26 02:17:31 PST 2019* · Previous message (by thread): [Goanet] Could this be considered a 'Goan' movie? <http://lists.goanet.org/pipermail/goanet-goanet.org/2019-January/182733.html> · Next message (by thread): [Goanet] No Standards, No Shame <http://lists.goanet.org/pipermail/goanet-goanet.org/2019-January/182735.html> *Messages sorted by:* [ date ] <http://lists.goanet.org/pipermail/goanet-goanet.org/2019-January/date.html#182734> [ thread ] <http://lists.goanet.org/pipermail/goanet-goanet.org/2019-January/thread.html#182734> [ subject ] <http://lists.goanet.org/pipermail/goanet-goanet.org/2019-January/subject.html#182734> [ author ] <http://lists.goanet.org/pipermail/goanet-goanet.org/2019-January/author.html#182734>
