The inuocous remark of the CM has received not too a polite retort by Satypal
Malik ,while accusing the former of improper language .The CM is not known to
be offensive or caustic in his responses and has maintained polite , dignified
respectful behaviour
The Governor who was in J&K is finding the atmosphere here too cold for his
dominant attitude and authoritarian streak in a completely different settings
He has proved to be no nonsense Head during tumultuous period and exercised his
authority with no holes bared approach .He has dealt with high and mighty
including the political heavy weights .He feels that he has nothing to lose
coming from one and half room residence and can be transferred not sacked He
has authored tough and unconventional approach in J&K while displaying soft
and mild impressions. while taking harsh independent decisions. There is not
much room for political drama here and to assert his authority except that
the disgruntled political elements get spring to wake up from political
slumber. He is known to be more than accommodating giving opposing audiences
a patient hearings to their grumblings and frustration and ,which is miss
interpreted as cooperation for brewing revolts
One is at a loss why such a known tough authority is suddenly posted as Goa
Governor to relax after a hard innings of pressure and tensions and where
there is no fertile ground for his interventions
Goa in the past has dubious record of worst kind in change of Govts , but is
not a sensitive law and order state of India .Presently there is a stable
BJP Govt and with hand picked , acceptable successor from oblivion . Besides
the curtain is already drawn on drama of defections, unless trouble is
fermenting over disqualification petition being delayed in defiance of SC
directions to dispose it in time bound manner , In such a circumstance the
prominent role of Governor will cone to fore
One need not be supper sensitive and take umbrage of a rare ,unintentional
remark as uncivilised to rake up a storm to prove existence and superiority
and unless one is inkling for an excuse.
CM is far from being boisterous or arrogant but his mild nature and not so
assertive authority has seem him through so far not being in the mould of his
authoritarian predecessors .Hopefully the storm in a tea cup will blow over
and the highest constitutional authorities will work in unison at the time of
crisis of pandemic and not on ego appetite to assert supremacy
