-0700] we have seen that the same datastore queries went up to 99000 ms.
This led to queries throwing exceptions due to deadline

Mine GAE instance is down too. I noticed its started last night Oct 25th
(approx close to midnight EST).
I started migration of my datastore from M/S to HRD. After it did
finishmigration, I started noticing that I cannot access GAE admin console
and my apps.
Perhaps GAE having issues with HRD
This is horror! Websites are down, because appengine is extremely slow.
Will be downtime of appengine be any longer? At the moment I move my
content to another server!

This has gone around before. Down time only counts if your server is down
when the reporting is up.
We call this differential down time.
If everyone is down then your down time doesn't count because the media will
already be reporting the mass outage and so people won't expect you to be
up.

They are one and the same. HttpUrlConnection uses the urlfetch service.

So either i use URLFetch / URLFetchAsync feature OR i make a connection
through HttpUrlConnection and getInputStream, both are same ?
I mean behind the scene, they are working as same object.
So when URLFetch fails, it means HttpUrlConnection also fails ?
