I agree with what Shivam said, I did this long back, and as far I remember,
I don't know if FTP or SFTP ports are allowed in GAE. you can redeploy the
app anyways after making changes until any new changes are made by Google
now.

Well, I really don't hv idea about your architecture. But based on your
inputs,
A high capacity VM, is good enough behind load balancer and autoscaling
feature but every thing has to be maintained and monitored by you.
I would have chosen, GKE to run my website as most of the things are taken
