Scub launched Quatuo ( http://www.quatuo.com ), a web semantic search engine that allows anyone to search exact informations about peoples and their relations. Quatuo also allows users with a Google Account to create, view, edit, and publish their FOAF profile on the web.
Quatuo crawls the web to discover and collect informations about peoples thanks to the FOAF web semantic vocabulary. All the informations we can find are stored in our dabatase to allow an easy and fast search. To make it highly scalable, Quatuo is running in the could thanks to the Google App Engine infrastructure. Quatuo also allows users to publish their FOAF profile on the web so Google and Yahoo can understand who they are, what they are doing and who they know. Read more on this thanks to this google blog post about FOAF ( http://googlewebmastercentral.blogspot.com/2009/10/help-us-make-web-better-update-on-rich.html ). We are using the google account API, the tasks to manage reccurence, the Jena API to deal with RDF, the schedule to deal with recurence, Stripes for web development. Aside from the "non relation database" aspect, it was just great :) You can read the full announce here : http://quatuo.blogspot.com/2010/01/scub-launches-quatuo-web-semantic.html Stéphane Traumat http://www.scub.net -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "Google App Engine" group.
