Solved the problem by calling to_string() method on atom.url.Url
object before passing it on.
Note though that this problem appears only on development environment
(works fine when deployed) and only after upgraded 1.1.4 ...

) but should probably have asked this group first I guess.
Looks like this is an environment development settings problem that
followed the automatic upgrade 1.1.3 -> 1.1.4, but after that I tried
to roll back
