It depends on how much traffic you expect to be sent. My gut feeling tells me Slashdot doesn't bomb sites as much as it used to. I had a blog post I wrote get on the first page of Hacker News which resulted in 3500 pageviews in a short period of time (my blog is hosted on Wordpress). 3500 pageviews
