Forget the bit about the redeploy being the only fix -- it appears to be random.
It's just reverted to normal. When I wrote the initial email, the text was displaying the <p></p> tags, <a> tags, etc. displaying in plain text (not rendered as HTML). (Waiting to see when it recurs.)
