I am new to AppEngine (previous Microsoft developer). So far I like what I see (I have always developed for SaaS). But I get the feeling I have to reinvent everything from scratch.
I think there must be a place where developers share solution components/snippets (reusable code) such as discussion forum modules, newsletter modules, Excel import/export modules, menu management, expanded roles/permission administration, expanded user management, etc. I am working on a very custom application so I need all the data from such modules to be fully accessible from my code and to be extensible. I am looking for a repository of shared modules or similar something like what the open source CMSs like Drupal, DotNetNuke, Joomla, etc. have, but specifically for AppEngine/Python27 (using NDB or Datastore - not CloudSQL). I read about DjangoCMS but I am not sure how well that integrates with datastore. Any suggestions of where I should be looking? Has anyone developed robust applications with lots of roles and rich community as well as business functionality that might be able to advise me of how that approached these problems?
