Yes, I have noticed the same behaviour.
My workaround: once a index has been automatically generated, I copy
its xml configuration from datastore-indexes-auto.xml to datastore-
indexes.xml.
Thus I consider datastore-indexes-auto.xml as automatic
propositions.
