Update: This website (http://www.jscriptive.org/2009/08/jasperreports-and- google-appengine.html) appears to confirm that it's a real issue rather than simply something I've done wrong or overlooked.
This website (http://code.google.com/p/g2-report-engine/wiki/ AppEngineSupport) seems to be a basic reporting tool that's specifically designed to work with GAE/J, albeit without the support of report building tools such as JasperReports' iReport. I'm still on the lookout for alternative reporting solutions if anyone can help me out?
