PHP5 + SQL server 2005 + embedded Google Map

Hi, I am doing a project on GIS(geographical Information System).I am new to google map API . I want to connect sql server 2005 with the embedded google map using PHP5 on windows XP (service pack 3) and Apache server. Can someone please guide me in doing this. It would be a great help. Thank
