couple days with no problem (no key checks). When I push it out to our
local server so my co-workers can test my application, the key I get

I am trying to run a hostname locally foo.com on my laptop. My windows
hosts file points to the 127.0.0.1 for this hostname foo.com. The
google maps api key for foo.com is not working for me in this
scenario. If i use localhost everything works fine. Any ideas about
what might be incorrect? Do
API keys don't and can't expire.
They are a hash of the URL generated for, and the Google Account
signed in at the time.
If you request a new key for the same url, at a different time, you
will get the exact same key.
Strongly suspect something else was actully going on.

The key i generated for Google Maps API expired and I had to generate
a new key. Is there a standard expiration time for maps key or was
this a one time issue.
