Hi,

The fact that you are using jQuery in line 46 should make no difference to 
the rest of the script, $('#map_canvas')[0] is the same as doing 
document.getElementById("map_canvas");

The map variable will be the same in either case, so if you wanted to not 
use jQuery at line 46 you will need map = new 
google.maps.Map(document.getElementById("map_canvas"),myOptions);

As I say it shouldn't make any difference, so it must be something else 
causing the geolocation to not work, can you link to a page where you had 
tried to add in the geolocation.
