CSS Style Recalculation Speed

I have a prototype GWT app which adds a large number (~2) of HTML widgets to a FlowPanel. Each HTML widget contains a single word taken from a String array returned by an GWT-RPC call. According to Speed Tracer, 96.8% of the time is spent in CSS Style Recalculation Does anyone have an idea
