I have also used the MapPanel in GWT-EXT, apparently it does not support plotting Polylines on OpenLayersMap. Have you had any luck with this using GWT-OpenLayers MapWidget to plot Polylines and MapOverlays? ... they don't exactly have a javadocs documentation like GWT-EXT.
