It was broke before for me as well but now appears to be working again...

Chrome version: 22.0.1229.94
GWT Developer Plugin version: 1.0.11338 (although I did hit Update
extensions now button on chrome://chrome/extensions/)

Reverting to Chrome 21 worked for me but the fact that Google Chrome
auto-updates means I always have to use this browser and I can never quit

Follow Thad's link to the other discussion and use Brandon's fix from there
(installing last version of Chrome side-by-side with the latest). All other
approaches were met with failure for me and although Firefox is much faster
and more stable, I just can't stomach developing on that browser
