Please pass it on to others who may be interested. - - - - - Following the success of the first year of The Prince's of Wales's Graduate Fellowship in Sustainable Architecture and Urbanism in 2008, applications are now being considered for the 2009 round of Fellowships. The Prince's Foundation for the Built Environment have six, fully-funded, two-year Fellowships which are based for one year at the offices of The Prince's Foundation in Shoreditch, central London, and for one year at the offices of a partner architectural firm. Candidates for this programme must be graduates of an accredited programme in architecture, urban design, planning, landscape architecture or a related discipline, and must demonstrate an understanding of the relevance of the principles of sustainable urbanism and a commitment to tackling the ecological challenge. Applications are welcomed from students and graduates of all relevant universities and colleges across the globe, and should be available for full-time employment for the period 26 June 2009 until 30 June 2011. Fellows will be paid a total of £40,000 over the two-year period. Please apply by sending a covering letter and a 500 word essay on the subject: 'How can sustainable urbanism mitigate city sprawl?' Your application must be supported by a letter of reference from your Head of School and include portfolio samples. The closing date is Monday 5th January 2009. Shortlisted candidates will be expected to attend interviews during February or March 2009.
