Given that the data standardization requirements from ONC are guiding our i2b2
information model design, we are now extracting CCDA complaint data sets from
Epic for our i2b2 instance. When MU requires ALL structured data elements be
coded in CCDA and it is universal in Care Everywhere, it is conceivable that we
can start mining CCDA documents received from other institutions for data we
want to store in i2b2.
The implications for HOW we need to be coding our i2b2 data is immediate and we
are moving in that direction as a network.

That is why the cohort characterization/QA data set that I asked Obesity to
review has LOINC, ICD* and SNOMED coding in the data quality assessment.

characterization

Hello everyone,

Our group ran across the attached JAMIA article and it has piqued our interest:

"Taking advantage of continuity of care documents to populate a research
repository"

I wanted to share this with the I2B2 data team & ask if this approach might
help inform our cohort characterization.

 Alex,

Let's use this ticket to track your work on an i2b2 query for obesity cohort
characterization coming out of the Nov 10 meeting (DataQuality#mtg2014-11-10).
