Dear Michael
That's great - I wasn't aware of these two sites which are both really
helpful and I'll follow them through. The issue on GRASS's
scriptability is something of a double-edged sword in that it makes it
much simpler to develop models in various languages and call them inside
the script

Can someone add a note to http://grass.itc.it/devel to the effect that
the latest development code is over at the osgeo site, and not on the
CVS server? It's quite misleading as it stands now. For example, there
is no way to know that you are not looking at the current code without

Hi,
script would be the best. v.net.path can read start and end coordinates
from stdin:
echo "1 startx,starty,endx,endy"|v.net.path in=network out=path
it should be possible, run with v.out.ascii output from your point file
for point in `v.out.ascii in=point`; do
echo $point |grep|sed|awk|per

Perhaps someone can direct me to the correct GRASS function(s)
for accomplishing the following analysis (Ive read the documentation,
am still unsure which, if any, GRASS tools will do the job):

It is the *or* operation I need. I want all areas of both vector files
to be in the new file. And any overlap to create new categories. I
should then be able use v.reclass based on the old a and b cat values to
consolidate the new categories that contain both, no?

Dear NVIZ-GRASSusers,
I have a couple of questions about NVIZ (GRASS6.2.3 and 6.3)):
1) What's the meaning of the flag -x and parameter path in nviz command?
-x should 'Start in Demo mode', but nothing seems to happen.
path should 'Set alternative panel path' but I don't understand which ki

Can somebody look on those data?
I used v.overlay with "and/or" and also got some strange results - not
what I expected. There must be something strange in that vector
dataset/how GRASS understands it.

hi,
should work
so,
I do not know, if you are using GUI or CLI
in CLI:
g.list rast # gives you list of available raster maps
d.mon x0 # start grass monitor
d.rast your_map # displays raster file called your_map
in GUI:
hit the "Add raster layer" button
in new form, click at the "Base rast

Hello
Does anyone know the current state of play with agent-based modelling
and GRASS? About four years ago there seemed to be considerable
activity on this front, with for example, Jim Westervelt's work on
integrating Swarm models into GRASS for cowbird predictions (described
in R. Gimblett's te
