Hello list,
someone know how to select features (lines) which are completely within a
polygon layer?
I have one layer two layers, one with the country boundary (i.e. USA) and
another with the states boundaries (i.e. USA states Alabama, Arizon, etc.).
The original data are polygon features. Since

NVIZ, xganim, i.orpho.photo etc are "applications" which use the GRASS
libraries, rather than m

save you many hours of time with all the examples and very good

I am using the GRASS book since the beginning of the year. I just wanted
to say that the book is simply The tutorial. I was wondering if the 1st
GRASS-book is worthy to obtain (any information that is not in the 2nd
and 3rd edition?).
Thanks to Markus and Helena.

Hi Hamish,
Thank you for the suggestions. v.hull is something that i had passed over
before, it wont work on this occasion as the dam is boomerang shaped, but i
will be sure to use it when i can. Takes a fair deal of processing out.
For those that are interested the final result was as follows:

I suspect I should start to learn python.
