check your computational region with 'g.region -p'.
The resolution should be set so that rows and columns do not
exceed ~ 4 x 4 or so. (unless you have lots of RAM)

Martin,
I see that you're the lead author of m.nviz.image so you're probably the
best qualified to teach me the appropriate command line syntax to achieve
what I need for a project. I've read the man page and tried filling in the
data entry widgets in the wxGUI but keep running into errors I do

Actually, that's 1.82G free memory. I don't know why it keeps crashing on
me with 2 raster maps.

Marcello,
I considered useing v.select but after reading the man page I wasn't sure
it would do just what I wanted. Instead, I used the GUI in digitize mode to
remove the st

Somehow, my streets map also contains lines for streams. I would like to
subtract the stream lines from the street lines but do not see a module to
do this. Map algebra works well with raster maps (r.mapcalc), but what
module will allow me to do this with two vector maps?

Hamish,
I must be invoking nviz incorrectly as I run out of memory with 4G on this
system and 182M free. I call nviz this way:

Hi,
the g.extension module(s) only starts to begin to work for end-
users who installed from a package with the upcoming 6.4.2, due in
a few days. you'll need the grass-dev package installed too.

Now I need to make a raster copy of this vector map so I can either
combine it with the DEM or add it as a second raster map in nviz. But,
when the v.to.rast finishes running there's only 1 lake visible; all the
others have disappeared. I've not been able to identify what I did
incorrectly.

I've been spinning my wheels and remain stuck on a solution to this
problem. Guidance appreciated.
There's a vector map of water bodies in the state that I clipped to the
project region using v.in.region followed by v.select. This seems to work
fine.

Hi List,
I was trying to install the v.vect.stats add on, but i got some
problems, which I wasn't able to fix with the help of the existing
mailing list.
First of all, I tried g.extension extension=v.vect.stats.
It couldn't find any add on, because the script is using a wrong url to svn:

Hi,
I just updated my osgeo4w installation and none of the GRASS versions
are starting using the menu shortcuts, not even GRASS 7 that used to
work until a few days ago.
cheers

Hi,
I'm a PhD student from Italy. During this year I should spend 2-3 months abroad
(in Europe). Anyone could tell me some University or Institutions that use
GRASS in their research? I'm trying to use it for environmental planning.
Thanks,
Salvatore
