If you try to copy from background map a popup will open where you can
select the background layer;
maybe it was better to have the option to select the layer from the
right click menu as in 6.4.x
because now it will ask every time you use the tool (don't know if it is
a bug though)

I'm not able to find the "Use as Background Map" option in the contextual
menu of vector layer, both in Windows and in Linux versions of Grass7.0. The
option is available in 6.4.3 both for Windows and Linux. Is this a bug or a
change not reported in Vector Digitizer manual ?
