If I correctly understand your problem is simply resolved by
r.category(http://www.mymovies.it/cinema/torino/6864/) command.

I have created some polygons for 4 different classes by digitization.The
current names they are having as 0. which I want to edit/rename as
urban,water etc.
How shall I do it ?
