The crisis faced by traditional fish workers will be in focus at the
seventh general assembly of the World Forum of Fisher Peoples to be held at
New Delhi from November 15 to 21.

A press note issued by the National Fishworkers Forum on Saturday said the
meeting would focus on the need to mobilise resistance to the move to usurp
and monopolize marine resources.

The convention would also discuss the challenges posed by climate change,
coastal erosion and unsustainable fishing practices.

Rally on Nov 21

The event will culminate in a rally by fish workers on November 21. NFF is
organising a campaign in coastal States on August 21 to raise funds for the
five- day meeting.

One fish

Each fish worker will contribute a fish to the fund, the press note said.
