Dear gretl developers,

graphic, a script output or a model window - and "close" it
eventually clicking on "x", gretl (2020e-git) crashes; all windows get

Hi Jan,
for supressing the output, you could use the "outfile" command.
Also, for debugging I often use the "printf" and "flush" command to
print the currently running loop and number of iteration. This may help
to detect or narrow down the trigger of the crash a bit further.

Dear list members,
I am trying to estimate several quantile regressions, each with a constant and
a single regressor, on a rolling basis (497 steps). The quantile vector is set

SOLVED!
Thank you all!
I separated the request for updating most files from installing libgretl1.dev .
Synaptic now delivered no messages and everything is in the newest version.

Thank you for the suggestions. Synaptic in Natty now does acknowledge the

Ah, the crash is

Were you referring to the model for USA with pure rate of time
preference derived from real interest rates (USA_real)? I only had two
missing or incomplete observations dropped in the estimation; the model
is saved to the icon view within the attached session file.
For your reference
Hi,
I tried it with my Mac version and it does not crash. However, your last
estimation returns an error message.
You have so many missing values in your instruments and dependent
variable that the second stage OLS cannot be computed. In the first
stage OLS 31 observations are dropped because

Hi,
I am estimating a restricted VECM using the --jitter option. I run the
estimation several times using a loop function with the --progressive
option. I want to calculate the average likelihood value of the
restricted model, the average p-value for the LR test on the imposed

Thanks for fixing it, Allin!

Hi,
I just want to report a bug using the current cvs on ubuntu 10.04.
Loading the attached session file and running the attached script leads
to a crash with the error:
Segmentation fault

Thanks for the report; that's now fixed
Thank you for fixing it so quickly, Allin!
It works fine now ;-)

Hi Allin,
Please find attached a random example. Check the saved VECM model and
find the restrictions which I used for one of my cases in the "notes"
folder in the icon view. If you use the graphical gui and also select
"show full restricted estimates" gretl will crash - at least here...

Hi,
Using the newest cvs under Ubuntu 10.04, I try to estimate a restricted
VECM (imposed restrictions on alpha and beta). But when I try to
estimate it using the gui gretl crashes. Using a script this does not
happen.
The output is:
Got a cross-alpha restriction

Please provide a test case.
Allin
Hello,
By accident I have found a bug in current cvs.
If one types "tsls 2 0 3;" (or whatever variables one chooses) and does
not specify additional instruments after the semicolon, gretl (vers.
1.8.7cvs, 2010-02-13) crashes.
Best,
Artur
