Hi grml fraternity,
I have used linux for almost 10 years, only used as a production system
(distro-enthu), so not much of kernel stuff. A med-skilled developer with
4-5 yrs of exp in network programming.
I have installed win7, with virtualbox in it. i need a linux, which is

Hello,
Hermann got there before me. The only thing I would add as the author of
the page/podcast is that although the audio walkthrough is for GRML
2008.11 the process is very much the same for GRML 2009.5 (I think
possibly identical).
I also would suggest booting into the live CD and installin

Hello,
I am just getting started with grml as of today.
I am blind, and would like to install grml onto my hard drive. I downloaded the
latest iso image:
grml_2009.05.iso
After looking at teh menu.lst file, it looks like I need to specify that I use
teh grml-hd menu option, but I need to add t

Great, I find usb sticks with grml on it increasingly useful to replace
hard disk installations ( the system stuff, not the data). I am going to

Hi
I wanted to suggest some minor modifications to the instructions
concerning the usb stick installation.
I found that in order to install grml-medium-2008.11 , I had to adjust
the lines in red. I also added some requirements that might not be
available , when your build environment is not grm

Hi,
Can one install grml using software speech? or do you need hardware speech

Any trouble and the manual is probably on the grml disk or see
http://www.gnu.org/software/parted/manual/parted.html for the single page

I'm using the speakup_synth=ltlk boot parameter to start my external
synthesizer, however I wish to also use a 2 gb swap partition that I have

Hi Mika,
So what you're saying is that it's on the to-do-list or that it's
already been done? I've read about the save-config part, but that
it's really what I was asking about (although it's very nifty). What
I was interested in is booting up grml from my USB flash drive, having

Hi,
I know that you can install grml easily on a usb flash drive and was
wondering if grml has any special options for flash drives
installation, as, from my understanding, flash drives have a limited
number of write and erase cycles before failure. Does grml allow you

Hi,
I was wondering if it was possible to install grml on an encrypted

installing grml on an external USB drive and since it can be stolen so
easily, I'd rather protect my data using encryption. So is this
possible? Accordi
