I need to add book edition to a refer database entry.
There seems to be no dedicated edition field. Which
field should I use?

the parameters are position independent, but that doesn't seem to be
so for NUMBER and COLOR.

When designing my index package I found the trickiest part was the
style file. In case it is useful I attach it and the indexing macros
(which would have to be tailored for what package you use).
