Hi, Please test / comment on proof-of-concept attached patch, it gets rid of libzfs dependency in GRUB. The approach is to implement a disk abstraction, like LVM does, but in this case a very simple one (passthrough). Then grub-probe et al can obtain their information from this abstraction layer
