You could try this:
Create a tiddler called [[ShowTiddlerCount]]. Then put the following
text inside it (Google Groups will probably add hard returns inside
the macro and remove the angle brackets at the very end, so be sure to
add back the brackets and remove any hard returns inside the macro):
