Strange GMutex behaviur

Hello. I have a thread where the mutex for a GHashTable is locked/unlocked very intensely. It works for a short while but then the thread locks completely and if I profile my program I see that the programs resides in kernel for an unusual long period. Any ideas? Greets, Luka
