Is there any chance that someone can take a look at bug 696882?

Currently with GTK 3.8.1 (but not in 3.8.0), applications resize back to
their default size frequently which makes for a highly frustrating
experience.

The bug is caused by the xinput2 backend and is still in git (just
tested today).
