I have been using a program called xgrk to switch to Greek keyboard in
order to write Greek text. However now with Gtk+ 2.x and UTF8 support
and all I wonder how do one switch keyboards now? If I use xgrk now I
get latin7 input so there are no Greek letters only junk in the Entry

I upgraded from gtk-2.0.0 to 2.2.0 and every thing didn't work except
gtk-demo ;-)
I received the following error:
The program 'nautilus' received an X Window System error
BadLength (poly request or internal xlib length erro'
