Compiling gtk2.10 installing

Dear sir, I have got pango 1.2.5-170 i586, atk1.4.1-124 i586, gtk 2.8-334 glib 1.2.10 i586 installed in my system, from suse linux package. I downloaded gtk2.10 version its dependencies from gtkorg tried installing it. I tried installing glib2.12 ./configure --enable-maintainer-mode
