Can't run the example

Hi, guys, I just installed GTK+-2.2.2 and libraries including atk-1.2.4, glib-2.2.2 and pango-1.2.3, but when I was trying to compile an example which is included in the zip file, it gave me errors like: gcc menu.c -o menu -Wall -DG_DISABLE_DEPRECATED -DGDK_DISABLE_DEPRECATED
