after experimenting for a while I've found out, that it's probably a
bug in /bin/sh of Solaris 2.7 because:
If it is a bug in Solaris 2.7 /bin/sh it is likely the same bug in
HP-UX 11.11 /bin/sh as I encounter the same error.
