The aluminum is not hardened around the bolt. The most likely problem is it
galled to the threads. In the good ol' US of A, a battery with 0 volts is of
no use to us. Are you sure we did not throw that one away, and you rescued it?

My suggestions for removing the broken screw extractor.bolt:
1) use a tig welder to weld some tool steel onto the end of the screw
extractor. This is to basicly rebuild the tap enough to get a grip on it to
remove it. Also the concentrated heat on the tap should be enough to expand
the aluminum
Can't believe it. On a rear tire change, my brake side adjuster axel
adjuster bolt became tight (how could it be cross threaded if it never was
out of the threads), so I penetrating oiled it, and proceeded to snap it
off, then snap off the screw extractor. Anyways, my winter project of
