I think that there is not need to select the port. Select as protocol
"Garmin USB" and ignore the port stuff. Click "start" and that's all.
In the "add layer" a new tab should appears that allow you download
the data from the gps.
I think that the drivers of the gps must be installed if you are o
ist to see if there are different opinions or new
suggestions to this before really change it.
