I couldn't find anything about this subject. gvSIG isn't compatible with
Windows Vista, at least not the raster options. what about Windows 7? Are
there the same probs occuring?

Hi!
I tried to run gvsig in Windows 7 but every time I open an raster image
gvsig crashes. I tried with various versions of Java and different modes in
Windows 7, XP mode Windows 2000 etc
but nothing helps.

At present, gvSIG 1.9 doesn't support totally Windows 7.
This is a pity because, in my opinion, Windows 7 is much better than Windows
Vista (well, it is easy to surpass Vista).
If you wish to buy a new computer with Windows 7 I suggest you to go for one
which sports the two mos

I just installed and (superficially) tested gvSIG 1.9
on Windows 7. It runs in a JRE 1.6u17, but as remarked
before, the raster data handling is dysfunctional.
Any attempt to load a raster layer (I tried TIFF and
ECW) kills gvSIG immediately after adding the layer

my JRE needed some dll-files (jgdalXXX.dll) which weren´t there. So I
installed gvSig again with the included JRE and copied these files to

DEM files in 3D
Running Gvsig1.9 + gvsig 3D extension in WindowsXP - no problems to load
regular image files but DEM files never show up in the map window,

preliminary work, so not many functionalities are expected to work.
