My roommate gave me a small fabric sewing kit reputed to be an antique Victorian one.  It's a dark blue velvet with an old gold silk-type fabric lining. I was given two lengths of fabric I *wanted* during my recent trip to the LA garment district by my friends. Otherwise, that was it this year
