Your comment on unreal colors reminded me of the movie "Angels and
Insects". While I think the cut of the women's dresses therein was
fairly accurate (mid 19th c, as I recall), the colors and patterns did
not appear to my slightly trained eye to be so, but I thought it was a
wonderful design c
If you think about it a certain way, it was probably
really good for all of us, for a change to let go and
just enjoy the movie--once we all decided to relax. :)
And for Lynn and her daughter (one of the most
genuinely wonderful young women on the planet, I
happen to know) even more so.

I guess you could throw a psychological spin on the show in that
underneath the public aspect of elegance and sophistication (as typified
by the outward attire the 18th century is famous for), the private
aspect is one of _ (fill in the blank with own perspective of the
"reality" of 18c lif
Well, I thought it was kind of fun, and I'm a stickler for costume
authenticity. But it fit in with the mood of the whole presentation,
since the "older Cassanova" scenes were costumed and set in a grimer
"reality" while the "past" scenes were lit, set, costumed, and even
dialogued differently.
IMHO, Part 2 cemented the thought that this interpretation was for
"comedy purposes"
Made me think of a "Knight's Tale" more than once while viewing it.
