Shorten the hennin and starch the lower veil until it's a stiff cone, and you've got the hat right there. And the collar of her dress also inspires the front of the actress's gown. This isn't the painting I was referring to but it's the first one I could find online that has the same elements. In the one I'm thinking of the gown itself is either dark blue or black. I just love that dress, it is such a fun adaptation. The reason the original poster called it the "Breakfast at Tiffany's" dress is that it makes the actress, Suzanna Zossiman (??something like that??) look like Audrey Hepburn. Sort of an Audrey Hepburn movie costume inspired by by a fifteenth-century gown and worn in a 1990s movie!!! Or was that 2000 already?
