Don't work for me - I have a very long rise, and I hate pants that don't come all the way to the waist. The other problem is that my hips are 1-2 sizes larger than my waist, and my full hip is only about 2-3" below my waist. So, anything without a defined waistband, elastic/drawstring, or gathers/pleats below it, gaps horribly at the waist.

Info for those in the US:
I have had good luck at Lane Bryant's - their shirts and blouses are
dreadful, but I have two pair of jeans (in a regular length because I
have relatively short legs) that contain some stretch. Their jeans also
come in tall. The waist is lowered on everything, if I recall correctly.
I have also managed to find some well-ade wool dress pants at
Nordstrom's Rack (but it is very very hit or miss).
