Well, I've spoken to the man I'm sewing this cotehardie for, and he really doesn't want a front lacing. The back lacing is, I see, not very good choice to take either, if it's not sure whether it's period or not. Do you think I could do with some hidden fastening on the side? If side lacing existed, this wouldn't be "unperiod". By the way, was the side lacing on both sides? But I'd rather make some much more invisible fastening at the side - how could be lacing hidden in a seam? I can't imagine that. What about hooks and eyes? I know there existed in renaissance, but no idea when it comes to middle ages. Thanks, Zuzana
